Dam & Reservoir Safety
Protecting critical water infrastructure from aerial reconnaissance and sabotage.
Dams and reservoirs are classified as critical national infrastructure (CNI) in most jurisdictions. A major hydroelectric dam provides power to millions of people; a water supply reservoir serves entire cities. Drone intrusion — whether for reconnaissance, aerial photography, or sabotage payload delivery — poses serious security and safety risks that demand a proactive, layered response.
Threat Profile
- Commercial drones carrying high-resolution surveillance cameras for facility reconnaissance
- Modified multi-rotor drones carrying explosive or chemical payloads
- Small fixed-wing aircraft approaching at very low altitude under terrain masking
- Hang-gliders, powered paragliders, and motorised ultralight aircraft
Recommended Solution
long-range radar systems (XR-RD08, XR-RD11) provide 8–10 km detection range, sufficient to cover the full reservoir surface and surrounding access corridors from a single installation point on the dam crown or adjacent high ground.
The AI classification engine reliably distinguishes drones from birds, boats, and other targets common around water bodies. Track continuity through water surface reflection multipath is maintained through proprietary signal processing algorithms specifically tuned for specular reflection environments.
SCADA Integration
Standard RJ45 Ethernet interface and JSON/TCP output format allow direct integration with existing SCADA security platforms at dam control facilities — no additional interface hardware required. We also support ASTERIX CAT-48 output for integration with larger situational awareness systems.
